Covid 19

14. april 2020

  1. Forældre med samfundskritiske jobs, bl.a. ansatte i sundhedssektoren,

Dear Parents,

We are expecting to reopen on 17.4.2020 – please notify us of your needs for childcare as soon as possible

We are busily preparing to reopen. We look forward to seeing you again - both the adults and the children.

With the past four weeks of shutdown, we have all done our part to keep the coronavirus in check and we have contributed to ensuring that we are now in a situation where the government has decided to gradually reopen society.

There are many things that need to be in place to ensure that the reopening is in line with the recommendations of the health professionals and safe for everyone. The Danish Health Authority has issued a long list of requirements concerning, for example, rooms, children groups, hygiene and cleaning that we need to comply with in order to be permitted to reopen.

The many requirements mean that it will be a very different weekday that we will be returning to, involving different kinds of activities, changed routines, new divisions in rooms and much more. Because it is so critical to keep a safe distance, we are required to have twice as much room per child. We therefore need to know your childcare needs so that we can restart step by step and ensure that we take as good care of each other as possible.

When we know your childcare needs, we will write back to you as soon as possible and confirm our opening date.

When do you need childcare?

We need to know your childcare needs when we reopen so that we can make a good plan for the first weeks.

  • Write in KbhBarn when your child is expected to arrive - just like you do when you report holidays.

  • Enter the information from the day that we are expecting to reopen and a week ahead - ideally, more than a week ahead if possible.

  • The information you enter is not binding, but do let us know if your needs change.

  • You can also send a message with your childcare needs to the head of your institution via KbhBarn.

We will continually be monitoring the attendance via KbhBarn so that we can ensure that we are at all times complying with the requirements of the health authorities.

Critical childcare

Before we reopen, it will be possible to get critical childcare if you have a special need for it. The critical childcare will work as it has for the past few weeks. Notify the head of your institution if you need critical childcare.

Read more about critical childcare at https://international.kk.dk/daycare-and-school-coronainfo

1. Parents with critical jobs, such as healthcare professionals,

Parents in cleaningjobs and parents who work in positions of taking care of other children.

2. Parents of children who are social exposed.

3. Parents who need to attend work (both parents)

A new everyday life

We have to comply with a large number of requirements from the Danish Health Authority, and it will therefore be a new kind of everyday life. You will see a gradual restart with small, regular groups of children, a lot of time spent outdoors and a strong focus on hygiene and handwashing for everyone.

Before we open, you will be notified of the practical issues surrounding dropping off and picking up of your children, food, hygiene and the other new routines that we will need to get used to.

Remember - sick children are not allowed to go to school. We hope that you will be extra careful about keeping children at home if they exhibit the slightest signs of being ill.

If you or your child are in a high-risk group and you are not sure whether your child can go back to school, please contact your doctor.

We are very much looking forward to seeing your children again and for all of us together to create a safe situation for everyone.

We know that we will meet challenges that we do not yet know how to solve. We therefore hope that we can work together to figure out the solutions along the way.

See you soon

REMEMBER

  • Ideally, teach your children how to wash their hands properly and how to practice good hygiene at home.
